The Isle of Man is well known for its rolling countryside and is a perfect place for a walking holiday. With a range of environments ranging from wind-swept coastal paths through to the heights of Snaefell Mountain it really does have something to offer every level of walker from the casual to the more experienced.
Founded in 1991 the Manx Footpaths Conservation Group is concerned with a range of environmental matters relating to Manx footpaths and their preservation.
In addition they have produced a number of books concerning walking on the Island, including Manx Hill Walks and Manx Holiday Walks. These contain specific walks with corresponding maps, references and photographs of the areas.
Should you want a more organised event during your trip to the Isle of Man, the group also offers a year round programme of guided walks and events. This is a perfect preparation if you intend to enter one of the Manx endurance events such as the End to End or parish Walks.
