If you and your family enjoy walking holidays then the Isle of Man is a great place with a range of sites and trails, as well as large annual walking events such as the Parish Walk. In the very north of the Island, Ayres Visitor Centre offers a great nature trail to walk, as well as giving lots of information on local wildlife and ecology.
The nature trail will lead you through a shingle beach and then onto the Marram Dunes before reaching a large heath. The centre itself is set on an ecologically important 5 mile stretch of sand-dune coastline from Cronk-y-Bing to the Point of Ayre.
Offshore wildlife enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see some of the many local seabirds including Gannetts and Terns in the summer. There is also the chance of seeing Basking sharks and Seals throughout the year.
In addition to the Visitor Centre the very north of the island also offers a range of perfect walking routes as well as several riding schools, should you fancy a day exploring while resting your feet.
Further information can be found on the Ayres Visitor Centre website.
