Based on the southern eastern tip of the Isle of Man Castletown Golf Links sits on the Langness Peninsula, locally known as Fort Island. This 18 hole course offers a number of challenges to even the most experienced golfer due to its location and the natural hazards in the area.
The course itself was founded in 1892 and designed by "Old Tom Morris", the founding father of modern golf. In 2015 it was voted as 75th Best Links in Great Britain & Ireland by National Club Golfer. In its time the course has hosted the PGA Cup, Europro Tour, Manx Classic Pro Am and the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy. It's currently ranked within Rolex’s Top 261 Golf Courses in the World
The new clubhouse gives some incredible views out over the Irish Sea and hosts No. 19 Langness Cafe & Grill offering food throughout the day using Manx ingredients.
In addition to the course, Langness is also listed as a site of special interest with several ancient monuments including the Iron Age fort which gives the spot its local name. This makes it a great place for all visitors to the Isle of Man to head to.
The course is also ideally located to explore the ancient capital of Mann, Castletown, after a game. With Castle Rushen at its centre you can explore the history of the Island before settling down into one of the local pubs for a quiet evening drink.
