Ghost Tours
The Isle of Man is rich with history and, during your holiday, you will no doubt see some amazing sights. Crumbling ancient castles, stone forts, ancient burial sites and more. But what about the people who once lived there, do their spirits linger on?
Ghost tours are an increasingly popular form of entertainment on the Island and IOM Ghost Tours offers walks around four of the major towns in the Island. Douglas, now the capital of the Island offers routes that include haunted hotels, hospitals where the spirit of a nurse roams and more. In Peel, Ramsey and Castletown you can find out more during your trip as you are led on the tour by Alan Shaw, founder of the infamous original Peel ghost tour.
If you are visiting the Island at certain times there are also special events you can attend. A tour of Castle Rushen, in the ancient Manx capital of Castletown, is not to be missed for details of its mixed and dark past.
The Gaiety theatre is another great ghost tour to entertain you. Not only will you possibly see "the man in grey" you will get a great insight into the history of Frank Matcham's masterpiece and a view around the backstage areas of this Victorian masterpiece.
