TT & Motorsport Events
In addition to its great countryside and outdoor activities the Isle of Man is well-known around the world for its motor sport heritage and cutting edge racing.
Rally fans are catered for with events such as Rally Isle of Man, covering 160 stage miles and running annually in May. These events can form part of a great holiday for rally fans, mixing high-speed and close-up action with the many heritage sites the Isle of Man has to offer. Trials riding is also well supported with the Manx 2 Day Trials which celebrated its 60th Anniversary in 2015 and forms part of the larger Festival of Motorcycling.
The biggest motor sport draw for the Island, however, is motorcycles. There are a number of racing events, such as the Southern 100 races running on the Billown circuit, and the world-famous TT races running on the Snaefell mountain circuit. For fans of the classic bikes that have raced over the years there are even more specialist events such as the Classic TT and Vintage Motorcycle Club Rally.
Regardless of the particular branch of motor sport you enjoy there is plenty on offer in the Isle of Man, and afterwards you are sure to have plenty to do during your visit, be it visiting the Gaiety Theatre for a show with the family, or relaxing in a local pub for a pint of Manx Ale while discussing the days races with other fans.
