The Longest Day Longest Ride 2024 dates are pending...
With the increasing popularity of cycling, both on and off-road, in the Isle of Man, there are a range of events ideal for you to build your trip around. The "Conister Bank Longest Day, Longest Ride" event is a 24 hour endurance mountain bike race at Conrhenny Plantation and is a true challenge for even the most hardened cyclist.
Normally run at the weekend of the Summer Solstice (hence the "Longest Day" name) the goal is simple. Ride for as long as you can, and complete as many laps as you can of the short 5km circuit in the time period.
With a variety of terrain this race offers a great excuse for everyone from casual cyclists through to experienced endurance athletes to visit the Island and race this technical route under timed conditions.
While on the island there is also plenty of opportunity to adventure on your own with plenty of mountain bike paths to explore, taking you to a range of hidden locations. If you don't manage to bring your own bike over then there are several shops who will be more than willing to rent you the equipment you need.
